The United Nations Human Rights Council is a body of the UN which was established in March, 2006 by the UNGA to replace the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. It meets at the UN Office at Geneva, Switzerland.
It is responsible for the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe and for addressing situations of human rights violations and making recommendations on them.
Agenda: The violations of human rights of incarcerated prisoners around the world with special emphasis on Guantanamo Bay
